The Central Committee for the Development of Industry and Industrial Zones held its meeting (1/2025) on Friday at the Ministry of Industry. Chairman of the Central Committee, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, attended and delivered a keynote address.

The Prime Minister stated that since the country has 28 industrial zones, 5 industrial wards, and 2 industrial zone projects currently under establishment, the nation's industrial sector must be developed and enhanced by upgrading these industrial zones. He also urged the State and relevant responsible organizations to strive to create policies, investment opportunities, and market linkages that will help increase production. He stressed that industrialists must strictly adhere to the laws, by-laws, and directives to ensure there is no adverse impact on the environment.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the development of the nation's production sector heavily relies on the development of industrial zones, making it a critical task to systematically develop not only the new industrial zones to be established but also the existing ones. And, attendees presented their respective sector-specific clarifications on successfully carrying out their duties in accordance with the stipulations of the Industrial Zone Law and its by-laws.

The Prime Minister coordinated and addressed the needs arising from the discussions, delivered a concluding speech, and adjourned the meeting.
