Efforts to contain wildfire burning in Gironde

Wildfires in the Gironde area of France have left extensive damage to forests. Stephanie Martin from Gironde Fire Service stressed that they are fighting against the fire every day.
Stephanie Martin, Gironde Fire Service said “When the fire arrives, it's just easier to burn because all the trees are less defence to fight against the fire. Every day we are fighting the same battles on the same grounds. It's becoming quite difficult to cope with. We're on our knees we're very tired but we are not going to let our forest or community fall."
The fires have been burning for weeks. Fifteen hundred firefighters from all over Europe are battling the blaze.
