Efforts For Agricultural Development: Harmonious Development For Food Sufficiency And Nutrition

‘The harmonious development of agricultural sector and livestock sector is essential for food sufficiency and nutrition’ – Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo stressed in the meeting with officials from agricultural departments in Kengtung Township of Shan State.

The officials reported on their respective work processes for Shan State. In his response, the Union Minister called for efforts quality products manufacturing, land use rights, acceleration of mechanized farming, departmental cooperation, effective use of the advanced technology and more training for human resources development.

The Union Minister also visited Jadae Akha Coffee and Tea Leaf Company, and stressed quality coffee planting and manageable livestock farming.

Also, the Union Minister visited a multi farm in Nar Yaung  Village Tract of Talay Township which distributes its oranges to local market and exports to neighbouring coutnries. There, he also explained the Ministry’s efforts for development of agricultural and livestock sectors.

The Union Minister also held a meeting with Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun and officials. The meeting focused on development of agricultural and livestock sectors in Shan State, animal disease control, food sufficiency and export sector.
