Education Sector: Vice President attends 25th Silver Jubilee Ceremony

Vice President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye attended the 25thSilver Jubilee Commemoration Ceremony of University of West Yangon on July 30 held on the university premises. First, the Vice President unveiled the Silver Jubilee commemorative plaque by pressing a button.

Then, the Vice President and officials sprinkled scented water on the commemorative plaque and monument, and subsequently toured the Silver Jubilee exhibition booths. The ceremony continued in the university's main hall, where students performed songs and dances. Delivering an opening address, the Vice President stated that the university has produced outstanding athletes in addition to its academic achievements.

She highlighted that all stakeholders—teachers, parents, and students—must collaborate to achieve comprehensive educational development. She urged all educational institutions, from basic education schools to universities, to strive toward nurturing well-rounded and capable young generations.

Congratulating the university on reaching its 25-year milestone, she expressed her well-wishes for even greater achievements in successive anniversaries. Following that, the Vice President and attendees watched a commemorative video clip marking the 25thSilver Jubilee of the university, as well as the musical and dance performances by the students.

The University of West Yangon was established in Htantabin Township in 2001. From the 2004–2005 academic year to the 2024–2025 academic year, the university has produced 24,585 Bachelor's degree holders, 1,001 Honours degree holders, and 881 postgraduate degree holders.
