Education Promotion : Meeting with the basic education teachers

To fulfill the needs of the basic education teachers who play vital role for the development of basic education sector of the country, Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein met with the teachers from Nay Pyi Taw Council Area at No. 6 Basic Education High School on Friday.

The Union Minister called for cooperation among principals, teachers, General Administration Department and Ministry of Health in an effort to implement Tobacco-free school area. She also instructed to conduct school health talks and to update Life Skill textbooks in line with current trend of age.

She outlined the plan to issue Digitalization Cards for students' health in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The Union Minister emphasized to implement teaching and learning system that supports sports and health during physical education classes and to provide books for effective usage of library time.

Currently, 6 Smart Schools have been selected and plans are underway to implement digital English teaching and application of AI technology.

School principals are urged to manage the academic budget systematically for their schools, to develop Data Bank of the students and to strive for high matriculation passing rate as well as to arrange excursion trips for the students and to maintain good characteristic of the schools. On the reports by the attendees, the Union Minister and Deputy Minister coordinated the needs.
