Smoke was still rising from the devastated port area of Beirut on Thursday morning, following the explosion almost two days ago that killed at least 135 people. Early morning scenes showed the sun rising over piles of debris and twisted metal after the disaster.
Investigators questioning Tuesday's massive explosion focused on possible neglect in the storage of tons of a highly explosive fertilizer in a waterfront warehouse, while the government ordered the house arrest of several port officials.
