e-ID System: Working Committee Meeting Held in Nay Pyi Taw

Working Committee for e-ID System held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

Chairman of the Committee Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi attended the meeting, and discussed that e-ID system is the foundation for e-Government system which is being implemented by the Government. In implementing the system, it needs to carry out the tasks in two parts of collecting Unit-ID and National-ID.

It will be carried out by forming the local advisory board with the comprise of the experienced experts. The collection of Unit-ID process is targeted to implement at 81 townships in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, and it will cover to those over 10 years of age. He stressed that e-ID system is important for the nation, and to implement the tasks with the consideration of national security and national interest. Committee Vice Chairman, Deputy Minister Brig-Gen Lu Mon, and Secretary Deputy Minister U Htay Hlaing later explained the work undertakings.
