Drugs seizure: Stimulant tablets and Ketamine seized in Amarapura

Illegal drugs worth 1.35 billion Kyats were seized in Amarapura Township on 4 April, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

A collaborative team consisting of the members of the Anti-Illegal Drug Police Force inspected the vehicle driven by Sai Kham Khaing and accompanied by Sai Yi Seng and Lin Zaw Oo between mileposts (423/1) and (423/2) on Yangon-Mandalay Highway, according to a report.

It seized 800,000 stimulant tablets and five kilogrammes of Ketamine worth 1.35 billion Kyats from the vehicle. It is reported that the confiscated illegal drugs were transported from Shan State (South) to Mandalay Region.

Action is taken against the arrested suspects under the law, and the police are investigating to identify and arrest other suspects, according to the MPF.
