Drug Seizure: Over 2 million stimulant tablets seized in Mandalay

Over 3 billion kyat worth stimulant tablets were seized in Mandalay Region, according to the report of Myanmar Police Force.

A combined team of Anti-Narcotics Task Force raided a guest house in Chanmyathazi Township on April 30, and arrested two suspects, along with the stimulant tablets. This led to the arrest of one more suspect in Patheingyi Township in the same evening.

Further investigation revealed three more suspects and they were arrested in Patheingyi, Chanmyathazi and Sintkai Townships on May 1. More than 2.1 million stimulant tablets were seized during the raid and it is reported that these pills were transported from Kutkai of Shan State (North) to be distributed in Mandalay. The distributor from Kutkai, known as Ar Yon is still at large, and the case has been filed a lawsuit in line with the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law.
