Donations for Needy People: India government donated rice and wheat to Myanmar

India government donated rice and wheat to Myanmar through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in coordination with Yangon Region Government made arrangements for the acceptance of 10,000 tons of rice and 200 tons of wheat.

Among the donated items, 280 containers with 7,560 tons of rice have been arrived at Asia World Terminal and 90 containers with 2,440 tons of rice at Myanmar Industry Port (MIP) on 17th March, and 9 containers with 200 tons of wheat arrived at MIP on the 30th March respectively.

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement coordinated with the concerned departments for the processes for removal of goods including import license, tax exemption Special Order and Delivery Order.

From 5th to 11th April, 47 containers with 25,354 rice bags and 9 containers with 4,000 bags of wheat have been removed from the warehouse.

The donated rice and wheat will be provided to the needy people in Yangon Region with the supervision of the Yangon Region Government.
