At the ceremony, Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay said that, in order to achieve the targeted yields for cotton cultivation in the region, it is essential for the relevant authorities to work together to ensure that local farmers engaged in cotton cultivation receive quality certified seeds and the necessary agricultural inputs. He added that the Sagaing Region Government would also coordinate among the relevant departments to ensure that farmers have access to quality seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural fuel at fair and affordable prices, as well as an adequate supply of irrigation water for their farms.

Afterwards, the Deputy Director of the Sagaing Region Department of Agriculture explained the distribution of high-quality, high-yield cotton and black gram seeds to farmers under the Quick Impact Project (QIP) supported by the Republic of India, and provided technical information and guidance on cotton cultivation.

The Chief Minister and responsible officials then distributed cotton seeds, black gram seeds, and agricultural inputs to 100 local farmers from 11 villages in Monywa Township.

Following the distribution, the Chief Minister, Region Government members and the local farmers attending the ceremony observed a field demonstration conducted by staff of the Department of Agriculture on the systematic cultivation of the RaKa 666 long-staple cotton variety under late-monsoon planting conditions. The demonstration took place on four acres of U Aye Kyaw's Field No. 665.
