Disaster Management: Cash and kind provided to strong-affected households in NPT

Department of Disaster Management in Nay Pyi Taw provided 156 relief items worth over 7.6 million kyats to 1,037 damaged houses and 8 monasteries,  over 9.2 million kyats of rice ration to over 4000 people, construction materials worth 41.8 million kyats for more than 1000 households, cash assistance for two injured persons, altogether 59.3 million kyats.

According to Head of Department of Disaster Management (Nay Pyi Taw) U Kyaw Kyaw Tun said 156 houses were collapsed and 881 house roofs were blown off, altogether 1, 037 houses and 8 monasteries were damaged by  strong wind in 20th April in 4 townships of Dekkhina District of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

Over 59.3 million kyats were provided to strong-affected households in Dekkhina District. The Department of Disaster Management is providing assistance to the welfare of affected people and conducting awareness for mitigation of natural disasters, the official added.
