







A Dhamma Puja ceremony for the Chancellor of the Rakha Pura Buddhist University and Mrauk-U Dhamma Center, Presiding Sayadaw of Yadanar Mar Aung Tawya Meditation Centers, Mrauk-U Sayadaw Vana Vasi Ashin Vayaminda , was held on the evening of January 28 at the U Ottama Hall in Sittwe. Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, State Chief Justice, State Government members and their wives, department officials, and guests attended the Dhamma Puja ceremony.
At the ceremony, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with the guests, received the Five Precepts from the Mrauk-U Sayadaw and listened to the Dhamma discourse delivered by the Sayadaw. They then offered donated items and cash donations.
In the evening, the State Chief Minister, his wife, and other members visited and encouraged the charitable act of cooking and offering one month's worth of rice and meat dishes to 10,000 temporarily displaced persons and other needy people in Sittwe, and personally handed out the rice and meat dishes to the public.
The Chief Minister, together with responsible officials, went on an inspection tour in the morning of January 29 to examine the implementation of Quick Win programs and works in various department offices using the state government's allocated funds for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
The State Chief Minister and officials visited the Forest Department compound in Sittwe to inspect the ongoing construction of a nursery and herbal garden for cultivating medicinal plants. They also went to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology office to check on the progress of Quick Win program activities and future plans. Furthermore, they visited the Township Office of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, the State Office of the Internal Revenue Department, and the State Office of the Customs Department to inspect the completion status and ongoing progress of works under the Quick Win program, and issued necessary instructions, it’s reported.
