Dhamma ceremony: New Year Dhamma ceremony commenced

The first day of New Year Dhamma Ceremony organized by Yangon Region Government was held at the Mingalar Hall of the Region Government Office, Yangon at 7 p.m. on 1st January, 2022.

At the first day of New Year Dhamma Ceremony, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Hla Soe and wife, Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and wife, region ministers and their wives, region level departmental officials, the responsible officials of steering committee, work committee and subcommittees to organize the New Year Dhamma Ceremony paid homage to the Buddha image by reciting three times of “Namo Tassa”.

Next, the congregation took the Yatana Sutta Dhamma Sermon delivered by the Chairman of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Abhidhaja Maharathaguru, Abhidhaja Aggamaha Saddhammajotika, Presiding Sayadaw of Bamaw monastery, Mandalay Dr. Ashin Kumarabhiwamsa.

The New Year Dhamma Ceremony will be organized for three days from 1st to 3rd of January, it’s reported. Bamaw Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Ashin Kumarabhiwamsa is to deliver Dhamma sermon on 1st of January, Thitagu Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nyanissara on 2nd and Rector Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nandamalabhiwamsa on 3rd of January.

The Dhamma sermon will be delivered starting from 7 p.m. daily. The Dhamma sermon will be broadcast live by Buddha Channel of SKYNET Broadcasting, Mahabodhi Channel of Myawady Broadcasting and MRTV Live Stream.
