Development Works: Presentation on Kengtung Urban Development Project

On 5th September, a presentation on Kengtung Urban Development Project was conducted at Shan State Government office in Taunggyi Township.

An official from Shan state Urban and Housing Development Department and Chairman of Kengtung District Management and Administrative Committee presented reports on arrangements to shape Kengtung as modern tourism township and provided suggestions on potential urban system.

Next, the attendees made sector-wise discussions on urban development project drafting process. Then, Chief Minister U Aung Aung instructed to upgrade Tachileik, Mongsat, Mong Khat and Mong Yan detour roads and to consider for building the highway bus stations and staff housings. He also emphasized on systematic installation and management of telecommunication poles and night market as well as flood preventive measures.
