Development Works: Efforts for development of agriculture and livestock sectors

To be able to overcome the climate change and difficulties of price instability in crops, Farmers Awareness Demonstration of Strip Cropping has been implemented at 6 acres farmland in Bekone village, Pubbathiri Township.

On Friday, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Deputy Ministers and Nay Pyi Taw Council Members made field inspection to the farm. The relevant agricultural experts made calrification on the cultivaiton of 18 crops by rows, the excursion of farmers from different regions, and personnel from Nay Pyi Taw Agricultural Department and students from Agricultural University. 

Upon the clarification, the Union Minister instructed the needs to support the increase of sequential cropping, to develop environmental friendly sustainable agricultural and livestock businesses plus earning extra income from inter crops and to provide technology assistance. 

Afterwards, the Union Minister inspected the construction of river water pumping work near Kyanphosu village where the officials explained about the project works and plans to distribute agricultural water before the cultivation season.

Upon the reports, the Union Minister made instructions on finding and using of water resources for the development of Nay Pyi Taw environment.

Then, the Union Minister proceeded to Teaching Hospital under the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department and inspected veterinary services being administered to livestock animals and pets. He also  instructed the needs to extend animal infectious disease awareness activities and breeding technology activities.
