Bricks laying ceremony: Taninthayi Region CM attended the ceremony

The ceremony of laying foundation brick for the new facility of Dawei Buddhist University in the compound of Mahasi Myoma Yin Nge Sasana Yeiktha in Kyauk Maw Ward of Dawei Township, Taninthayi Region in the morning on May 6.

At the ceremony, State Ovadacariya Aggamaha Pandita Abhidhaja Maharatha Guru Presiding Sayadaw of Zayyawady monastery, Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko and officials lit the opening ceremony candles.

Next, the Chief Minister, Chief Justice of Region High Court, Region Ministers, Deputy Commander of Coastal Region Command, well-wishers opened the ceremony by reciting “Namo Tassa” for three times.

Next, the congregation observed the five precepts administered by the Chairman Sayadaw of Region Sahgha Mahanayaka Committee, took the sermon from Presiding Sayadaw of Zayyawady monastery and offered the offertories to the members of Sangha.

Then, the Chief Minister donated 5 million Kyats for the construction of Buddhist University and the B.A (Final) student accepted the cash donation and the principal Sayadaw returned a certificate of honor.

Next, the Chief Minister accepted 49.6 million Kyats and 45000 bricks donated by the well-wishers and returned the certificate of honor.

Then, the Chief Minister supplicated the religious affairs, the B.A (Final) student expressed words of thanks and shared merits gained from the donation.

After that, Presiding Sayadaw of Zayyawady monastery, Chief Minister U Myat Ko and officials took their designated places, laid the brick reciting the auspicious Pali stanza. Then, the ceremony was concluded, it’s reported.
