







Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, together with state government members and departmental officials, inspected ongoing development projects in Sittwe on Saturday.
They oversaw road drainage, pavement, and box culvert construction works on Minbargyi Road, funded under the 2025–2026 fiscal year capital budget. Later, the Chief Minister inspected asphalt paving, drainage works, and parking areas near the Sittwe Airport rest house. He instructed officials to ensure good quality work, and emphasized environmental cleanliness around the airport.
In the evening of January 16, the Chief Minister attended the completion ceremony of a six-month handloom training course at Khaing Thazin Hall in Sittwe. In his speech, the Chief Minister said the training aims to help young people, who could not complete formal education, gain vocational skills, job opportunities, and income.
He encouraged trainees to preserve traditional culture while creating modern designs to produce marketable handwoven products. Then, the cash prizes and certificates were presented to outstanding trainees and instructors, and viewed the trainees’ handwoven products.
