Designated protected forest: Pearl protected forest area in Saw Twsp designated

30 percent of protected forest area and 10 percent of forest reserved areas were established as the country’s forest areas.

The forest in Saw Township, Gangaw district in Magway region was designated as Pearl protected forest area and it is also one of the forest restoration projects implementing within 10 year from 2017-2018 to 2026-2027. For doing this, it can mitigate climate changes, fulfill the basic need of the locals, maintain water resources and also protect the wildlife in the region. 

Myo Aung, Assistant Director, Forest Department (Magway) said "The area of Pearl protected forest is 2,617 acres. By establishing protected forest area in Magway region, it can develop the balance of ecosystems, increase numerous trees and wildlife."

Including Pearl protected forest area, Paw Lae Wat Chi Par, Phyan and North area-1 of Pauk in Magway region have been designated as the protected forest area   till the end of August 2022.
