







Myanmar recorded 10,766 cases of dengue fever with 43 deaths as of July 16th. The most cases of dengue fever have been found in Ayeyawady and Yangon Regions and Mon State. There are also cases in the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw Council area.
The Public Health Department is planning to organized a campaign to free mosquito and larva in the staff housings of the Union level organizations and ministries in Nay Pyi Taw. A coordination meeting for the campaign was held at the Ministry of Health on Friday.
Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win said dengue fever is the major infectious disease in Myanmar and it usually occurs once in two to three years. Since dengue fever can be infected to the people of all ages, it needs to carry out the prevention measures as a campaign. He called for the cooperation of concerned ministries in the preventive measures for dengue fever.
