








Today marks the full moon day of Tazaungmon, one of the special and sacred days for Buddhists. In accordance with this, the Tazaungdaing Festival and the Festival of Lights are celebrated annually, preserved and passed down as a fine cultural tradition of Myanmar.
On this significant day, Buddhists engage in various meritorious deeds. They observe the precepts, recite the Patthana discourse and Paritta suttas in dedication to the Lord Buddha, offer Kathina robes at monasteries and celebrate the auspicious Kathina alms-giving ceremony, and strive to cultivate virtues such as generosity, morality, and meditation.
They also visit pagodas, stupas, and temples to pay respectful homage with peaceful minds. While preserving and celebrating this Myanmar cultural festival, the Shwe Phone Pwint Pagoda in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory, also held ceremonies in the evening.
The Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, along with his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the SSPC Vice-Chairman, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army),Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than New, SSPC member Executive Chief General Aung Lin Dwe and wife, SSPC Secretary Joint- Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo and wife, SSPC member Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) Genera; Kyaw Swar Lin and wife, Union-level dignitaries and their wives, Union Ministers and their wives and senior Tatmadaw officials from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, celebrated the Tazaungmone Full Moon Day (Samannaphala Day) and the Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights with joy and delight.
They did so by illuminating the sacred pagoda with oil lamps and colourful lights, offering flowers and scented water, and lighting a thousand oil lamps. Similarly, to commemorate the Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights, the compound of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) was also beautifully decorated for the festival with colorful lights adorning the roads, buildings, and ornamental plants, creating a delightful scene. Entertainment festivals were also organized, which were joyfully celebrated by the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) with peaceful and happy hearts.
