COVID-19 Vaccine Donation: Russia Donates 400,000 Doses of Sputnik Light

The Russian Federation donated 400,000 doses of Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday evening.

During the hand-over ceremony at Yangon International Airport, Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Dr. Nikolay Listopadov stressed that the COVID-19 vaccine donation is to strengthen Russia-Myanmar relations and to help Myanmar fight against the COVID-19 disease.

In his response, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win expressed words of thanks, stressed the importance of COVID-19 vaccines in case of the next wave and the donated vaccine will surely be a help to COVID-19 control measure in Myanmar.

It’s learnt that Myanmar purchased 2 million doses of Spuntnik Light COVID-19 vaccine and received the donation of 400,000 doses of Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine from Russia.
