COVID-19 Vaccination: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 9th of January, residents in 1 township in eastern Shan State, 1 township in Tanintharyi Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 2 townships in Rakhine State, 7 districts in Mandalay Region and 2 townships in Bagon Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, vaccination was given to those taking shelter at the IDP camp in Pauktaw Township of Rakhine State. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
