


Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.
On the 11h and 12th of January, residents in 14 townships in northern Shan State, 4 townships in eastern Shan State, 11 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 2 townships in Tanintharyi Region, 4 townships in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 4 townships in Rakhine State, 7 districts in Mandalay Region, 1 township in Mon State and 1township in Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.
Also, vaccination was given to residents in Pauktaw Township of Rakhine State and those taking shelter at the IDP camp in the Township. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries and associations.
