COVID-19 Vaccination: Prevention Programme continues in regions and states

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 9th of April, residents in 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 11 townships in Rakhine State, 7 districts in Mandalay Region, 2 townships in Bago Region and 1 township in Yangon Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, in Kawthoung Township of Tanintharyi Region, those aged over 50 received the booster shots. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.

The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
