
Ministry of Health and Sports at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday reported one new COVID-19 case after testing 393 lab specimens as the second batch.
The new confirmed patient is a returnee from Thailand. He is a resident of Bago Township, Bago Region.
COVID-19 cases in Myanmar have now reached 304 with 6 deaths. While 222 patients have recovered from the disease, 216 of them have been discharged from the hospitals and put under quarantine. The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, Brazil, Russian Federation, India, the United Kingdom, Peru, Spain, Chile, Italy, Islamist Republic of Iran, Germany and Turkey according to the World Health Organization.
Globally, as of 6:08pm CEST, 2nd July 2020, there have been over 10.357 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 508,055 deaths, reported to WHO.
The totaling 1,340 lab specimens were tested by the National Health Laboratory, Department of Medical Research, Public Health Laboratory (Mandalay) and Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine) from 1st July to the morning of 2nd July.
