
The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
The Ministry reported 540 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 17,763 lab specimens within 24 hours. 2 patients have died due to the disease while 1,238 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 608,384 with 19,420 deaths and 562,905 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy and Spain, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 7:33pm CET, 18 March 2022, there have been over 464 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.06 million deaths.
