COVID-19 Update: 445 New Cases with 1 Death Reported On March 17

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 445 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 18,155 lab specimens within 24 hours. 1 patient has died due to the disease while 780 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 607,844 with 19,418 deaths and 561,667 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Republic of Korea, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:14 pm CET, 17 March 2022, there have been over 462 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.056 million deaths.
