COVID-19 Update: 398 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On December 8

The Ministry of Health reported 398 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 18,972 lab specimens within 24 hours.

5 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 331 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 525,403 with 19,157 deaths and 501,520 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 7th December, 2021, a total of over 18 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 12 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 5 million people once. Therefore, a total of 30 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 48.98 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Germany, Islamic Republic of Iran and Argentina according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 3:20 p.m. Central European Time on December 8th, 2021, there have been over 266.50 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.26 million deaths, reported to WHO.
