COVID-19 Update: 38 new COVID-19 cases reported on August 12

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 38 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 5,674 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 26 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 614,335 with 19,435 deaths and 593,081 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Turkiye, Japan and Spain according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:36 pm CEST, 12 August 2022, there have been over 585 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.42 million deaths.
