COVID-19 Update: 280 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on December 12

The Ministry of Health reported 280 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 11,537 lab specimens within 24 hours. 6 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 441 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 526,661 with 19,183 deaths and 503,107 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 11th December, 2021, a total of over 18.8 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 13 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 5.7 million people once.

Therefore, a total of 31.8 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated. The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
