COVID-19 Update: 217 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On December 17

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 217 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 14,708 patients within 24 hours. 7 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 374 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 527,931 with 19,208 deaths and 504,856 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Germany, Iran and Spain, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:14pm CET, 17 December 2021, there have been over 271 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.33 million deaths.
