COVID-19 Update: 20 new COVID-19 cases reported on April 21

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 20 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Thursday after testing 12,651 lab specimens within 24 hours. 22 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. As of April 21st, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 612,697 with 19,434 deaths and 591,544 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russian Federation, the Republic of Korea, Italy, and Turkey, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:19 pm CEST on 21 April, there have been over 505 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.21 million deaths.
