
The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
The Ministry reported 20 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 5,407 lab specimens within 24 hours. 43 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. As of April 16th, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 612,565 with 19,434 deaths and 591,347 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 16th April, 2022, over 28.72 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 22.35 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 6.37 million people once and over 1.18 million people have received booster dose. Therefore, over 52.26 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated, according to the press release of Ministry of Health.
