COVID-19 Update: 199 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On December 22

The Ministry of Health reported 199 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 13,577 lab specimens within 24 hours.

5 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 210 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 528,838 with 19,235 deaths and 506,306 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 21st December, 2021, a total of over 20.1 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 14.1 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 5.9 million people once. Therefore, a total of 34.22 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 50.56 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Germany, Islamic Republic of Iran and Spain according to the World Health Organization.

Globally, as of 7:05 p.m. Central European Time on December 22nd, 2021, there have been over 275.23 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.36 million deaths, reported to WHO.
