COVID-19 Update: 17 new COVID-19 cases reported on April 22

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 17 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 11,549 lab specimens within 24 hours. 39 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. As of April 22nd, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 612,714 with 19,434 deaths and 591,583 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russian Federation, the Republic of Korea, Italy, and Turkey, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:47 pm CEST on 22 April, there have been over 505 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.21 million deaths.
