COVID-19 Update: 133 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On January 5

The Ministry of Health reported 133 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 11,185 lab specimens within 24 hours. 4 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 227patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 531,432 with 19,282 deaths and 509,409 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 55.97 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, France, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Italy according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:53 p.m. Central European Time on January 5th, 2022, there have been over 293.75 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.45 million deaths, reported to WHO.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic
