COVID-19 Preventive Measures: MOH Union Minister called for accelerated efforts

A coordination meeting on accelerating the COVID-19 preventive measures was held at the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.
Union Minister Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win made a speech, saying that the infection of Omicron Subvariant BA.4 and BA.5 have been increasing globally, and Myanmar also found the infection of Subvariant in the laboratory samples.
He stressed the needs to strictly follow the guidelines for disease prevention measures at the border gates. At present, the COVID-19 infection has been increased again in the country not only in the returnees from foreign countries but also the local transmission.
The Union Minister called for accelerated efforts for administering COVID-19 Booster Dose and other prevention measures, and the requirements will be provided in time according to the needs.
Deputy Minister Professor Dr Aye Tun discussed the preparation measures at the treatment centers and People’s Hospitals. It was followed by a general round of discussions on COVID-19 prevention and treatment measures.
