Covid-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control. On the 9th and 10th of January, residents in 6 townships in northern Shan State, 3 townships in eastern Shan State, 2 townships in Tanintharyi Region, 6 townships in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 7 districts in Mandalay Region and 3 townships in Bagon Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

 Also, vaccination was given to residents in Pauktaw Township of Rakhine State and those taking shelter at the IDP camp in the Township. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
