Covid-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 9th of February, 2 townships in northern Shan State, 1 township in eastern Shan State, 11 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 2 townships in Tanintharyi Region, 2 townships in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 8 townships in Rakhine State, 1 township in Sagaing Region and 1 township in Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines. Also, in Kyaikhto Township area of Mon State, on the 8th of February, Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccine was given to 1,150 locals as booster shots. Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
