COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme continues in regions and states

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 7th and 8th of April, residents in 1 township of Nay Pyi Taw Council area, 15 townships of northern Shan State and 1 township of eastern Shan State as well as in Mon and Kayin states, Bago Region, Rakhine State and Ayeyawaddy Region received the vaccines. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
