COVID-19 Meeting: Control And Emergency Response In Shan State

Shan State COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee held a coordination meeting at the State Government Office in Taunggyi.

There, State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun highlighted the number of people who received the COVID-19 vaccines in Shan State. Out of over 3 million people eligible for vaccination programme, over 2 million people received the 1st of vaccines and over 1.5 million people received the full doses. Regarding the COVID-19 infection in Shan State, there were over 37,000 cases in the southern state, over 29,000 in the northern state and over 16,000 in the eastern state. Among the infected persons, 2,327 people lost their lives while nearly 80,000 recovered from the disease, the Chief Minister added.
