





The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
At the Mandalay General Hospital, preparations have been made to fight against the COVID-19 Variant ‘Omicron’ as the Ministry reported local transmission. The preparations include treatment measures for 397 positive patients at treatment center, 9 patients at intensive care unit and 30 extra ICU beds as well as prevention aid and oxygen and medical supplies.
The Hospital also has medical experts and staff who experienced the COVID-19 third wave. Ministry of Health reported over 530,000 COVID-19 with over 19,000 deaths. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
Preventive measures include physical or social distancing, quarantining, ventilation of indoor spaces, covering coughs and sneezes, hand washing, and keeping unwashed hands away from the face. The use of face masks or coverings has been recommended in public settings to minimize the risk of transmissions.
