


Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the prize awarding ceremony for professional and amateur levels colour-photo contests at Printing and Publishing Department in Yangon on Sunday.
In his address, the Union Minister recounted that entries were received in the colour-photo contest depicting the movements of prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, impacts of the pandemic and endeavours of health staff, charity associations and volunteers. These works will motivate the people to overcome the challenges of the pandemic.
Professional and amateur photographers can take pride in their works as part of benefiting the State.
Also, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Hla Soe in his address acknowledged the hero volunteers and well-wisher people for their performance in prevention, control and treatment activities of COVID-19. Chairman of the prize winner scrutiny committee film director Bagyi Soe Moe explained the scrutiny and selection of the prize winning works.
The Union minister presented the first, second and third prizes to winners in the professional level photo contest whereas Yangon Region Chief Minister U Hla Soe gave the first, second and third prizes to winners in the amateur level.
Officials presented special prizes to respective winners. The Information and Public Relations Department holds invitational colour-photo contests twice a year to emerge the professional photographers to portray the disadvantage of the pandemic and activities of prevention, control and treatment for COVID-19 to the people.
