Corgis take part in Royal Walk through the streets of Riga

For the fourth year in a row, central Riga has turned into a true corgi kingdom. Corgis from across Latvia took part in the Royal Corgi Walk – a colourful and cheerful parade celebrating the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II and her special bond with the breed.

This year, organizers hoped to beat last year’s record of 198 corgis gathered in one place. The corgis also had a chance to show off their royal style. A colourful costume contest was held to crown this year’s Corgi King and Queen. After the walk, participants gathered in Kronvalda Park for a Royal British Tea Picnic, musical performances and, later, even a corgi disco. The walk began in 2023 as a warm-hearted tradition of Latvia’s corgi community.
