Coordination Meeting: Regional Disaster Management Committee meeting

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, in his capacity as Chairman of the Regional Disaster Management Committee, attended the committee’s coordination meeting, held at the Regional Government Office on November 7.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted that natural disasters such as earthquakes, storms, and floods are major causes of damage worldwide, and Myanmar also faces these challenges, especially floods during the monsoon season.

He emphasized the importance of preparedness, early warning systems, and public awareness to minimize losses. Regional ministers and officials discussed ongoing disaster response and preparedness activities across districts and townships, and coordination measures were made to strengthen cooperation among departments.
