Coordination Meeting: NCSP Chairman delivered a speech at the meeting

A coordination meeting on methods to reduce illegal migrant workers going abroad, promote social security and workplace well-being for basic laborers, and create job opportunities for vulnerable, temporarily displaced groups from ethnic regions was held at UMFCCI in Yangon on September 16.

The meeting was led by Chairman of National Committee on Social Protection, Union Minister for the Ministry (2) of the President's Office U Ko Ko Hlaing. During the meeting, Chairman of NCSP stated that as the Chairman of the National Committee on Social Protection, he wished to know what the government and employers could do to reduce the number of illegal migrant workers going abroad, address the shortage of skilled workers, and improve the social security and workplace well-being of basic laborers.

He also sought to identify government and business-side programs that could provide training and create jobs for vulnerable, temporarily displaced groups from ethnic regions. The Union Minister then coordinated and discussed the information presented by the business entrepreneurs.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Ethnic Affairs, the Yangon Region Minister for Economy, the Yangon Region Minister for Ethnic Affairs, the Director-General of the Department of Labour, UMFCCI General Secretary, and other officials and business entrepreneurs.
