






A coordination meeting (4/2025) of the Myanmar Cement Manufacturers Association was held at the Ministry of Industry's office building (No. 30) in Nay Pyi Taw on September 9.
The Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than attended the meeting and gave an opening speech. The Union Minister noted that due to the Mandalay earthquake, domestic cement factories were damaged, causing cement prices to rise.
However, with the coordinated efforts of the Myanmar Cement Manufacturers Association and relevant ministries, the factories have resumed operations as quickly as possible, and prices have returned to normal. He also mentioned that discussions are underway to include cement production technology as a subject in vocational schools, such as universities and colleges of technology, to help disseminate technical knowledge etc.
Following the Union Minister's speech, attendees, including the managing director of Heavy Industries No. 2, the chairman and vice-chairman of the association, officials from cement factories, ministerial representatives, and the director general of the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, held a collective discussion on related sector.
The Union Minister then coordinated and resolved the needs presented by the factories, delivered the conclusion speech. In the afternoon, a coordination meeting of the Project Supervision Committee was held. The Union Minister gave a speech, and the Director General of the Union Minister's Office, along with other committee members, reported on the status of completed tasks and future plans.
