Coordination Meeting : Meeting for the Eradication of Child Labour held

The coordination meeting (1/2026) of the Chin State Working Committee and Sub-committees for the Eradication of Child Labour was held on January 20 at the meeting hall of the Chin State Government Office in Hakha. Patron of the State Working Committee Chin State Chief Minister Dr. Wong Sun Thang, of and attended and delivered the opening remarks.

In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that the issue of child labour is an undesirable matter of national concern. To address this, committees have been established at the central, region/state, district, and township levels, along with specialized sub-committees. He noted that each working committee is required to submit progress reports to the government every six months, while committees have made maximum efforts to carry out their duties in previous years, they must continue to develop and implement work plans that are suited to the specific needs of the local region this year. He encouraged members to engage in open discussion regarding challenges and necessary points for submission.

Following the opening remarks, Secretary of the Working Committee gave a PowerPoint presentation covering the formation of the Chin State Working Committee and its sub-committees, the formal definition of "child labour", meeting attendance and operational progress and budget expenditures and the upcoming roadmap for future activities.

Subsequently, officials from various sub-committees explained their completed tasks and future action plans. The Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and members of the State Working Committee provided additional suggestions and comments on the presentations. The Chief Minister concluded the meeting by coordinating the requirements presented and delivering a closing speech.
