Coordination Meeting: Discussions On Standards Development Took Place

The coordination meeting on the standards development to improve National Quality Infrastructure of Myanmar was held at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday and the chairman of National Standardization Council Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw and officials concerned joined in the discussion.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said to coordinate regarding with the process of setting standardizations of technical subcommittee, to undertake for the final draft of Myanmar Standardization under discussion at the committee level, upgrading of laboratories and assessment organizations to assess the homemade and imported products to conform with the standards and quality.

The director-general of research and innovative department and chairmen of technical subcommittees discussed the matters on Myanmar Standards Development Activities and setting standards and qualities prioritized by the relevant technical subcommittees, Myanmar standards to be set in line with international and regional ASEAN standards, to cooperate for turning out the accredited laboratories that can test in accordance with the standards, to enhance the use of Myanmar standards for customer safety, establish certification bodies to support export growth and the chairman of national standardization council coordinated necessaries.
